Introductions
Good evening!
Hi, I'm George Bowser.
I am Ricky Blue.
We will be your Troubadours tonight.
The word "Troubadour" comes from an old French word, of course.
"Trovere", which means finder, as in treasure "trove" of song.
The Troubadours found stories, poems, gossip, news,
and people listened when they retold them with music.
In the Middle Ages, a young Troubadour would learn his craft through apprenticeship.
He'd follow an old troubadour around and copy what he did.
But in the modern era, we have records, TV, tapes.
If they had Walkmans in the Middle Ages, I'm sure they would have used them.
Hey, you have to learn somehow, and they don't teach Troubadour in school.
We started with three chords, two guitars, one song.
