A Cold Cold Christmas
My fridge is full of food and beers, neighbors start to call
The gifts are wrapped in hidden in the closet in the hall
I sit by the window wondering in the twinkling lights
Safe and warm on Christmas night
A ragged figure shuffles through the snow on Bleury street
Looking for a subway grate that gives off subway heats
Though the temperature is going down to 10 below
Where else can poor old Kenny go?
And it's gonna be a cold, cold Christmas for some of us
No food, no laughter, no cheer
Another kind of Christmas for some of us
A cold, cold Christmas this year
At the Mission Mary gives out baskets to the poor
Amazed at all the needy people coming through the door
Since she started here she hasn't seen it quite this bad
Christmas always makes her sad
Yes it's gonna be a cold, cold Christmas for some of us
No toys, no cookies, no treat
Another kind of Christmas for some of us
What a cold, cold Christmas it will be
